3. What is a Digipak?
The aim of a digipak is to attract customers into
buying the product. For example, this can be
done through artwork - to persuade and
attract the target audience as it stands out
from competitors, this is something which I
aimed to achieve in my print productions – a
strong bold visual appearance.
5. Panel 1
The links to my music video
with panel 1 is by the use of
the title “Information”.
The title is created from cut-outs
of newspaper headlines from
The Daily Mail, The Sun and
The Guardian.
The link is made by including the
newspapers, The Daily Mail,
The Sun and The Guardian
within my music video.
7. Panel 2 and 3
The links between panel
2 and 3 to my music video is through the
use of symmetry.
The artist in my music video
is directly in front of the
camera, creating a symmetry
within the mise-en-scene.
8. Another link with my music video is through the use of colour.
My music video has a very dark mise-en-scene, so when
creating my digipak I wanted to use bright colours to add to
the appeal. The link is through opposite colour palettes.
My digipak and magazine advert uses the combination of red,
white and black. This has a strong impact on the viewer.
Red in Asian culture is often represented as hope and a
symbol of good luck, along with the meaning of vigor and
fire.
The black and white balances out the harmony of colour
through Yin-Yang (dark – light), which enhances the visual
appearance.
10. Panel 4
Panel 4 of my digipak I feel does not
link strongly with my music video.
However, the placement of my
artist’s face is an intertextual
reference to a propaganda poster
by G Lacoste.
The next slide will display the poster.

12. Poster by G Lacoste
The poster titled “Beware” influenced me while
creating panels 2, 4 and magazine advert.
The audience instantly recognises
that the cartoon character is
Hitler.
Although my artist is an unsigned
unknown, the affect of only featuring
half of my artist’s face, the audience
viewing panel 4 will begin to question
who the artist is.
14. Magazine Advert
The links between my magazine advert
and my music video is through the use
of a simplistic appearance.
My magazine advert is easy to read and view. It
gives instantly the necessary information to the
viewer. My music video is similar, in terms of
editing and narrative.
The visuals shown in my music video are easy to
understand. There are no jump cuts or any quick
cuts in the edit to confuse the consumer.
