2. Song Idea Summery
Born to run The idea for my music video will show a boy wandering
though different areas while the band will be
performing with no lead singer starting to play in a dark
room surrounded by lights.
The singer will travel though the forest, town and finally
joins the band for the last course.
Tenerife sea The video will open with a couples iphones with memories
of them together. The camera will zoom into the memory's and
cut to a scene with a flash of white light of the couple together.
This will continue with the linear theme of the memories of the
couple together with the memories of them meeting with 4-6
memories and performance scattered throughout with the
singer singing in locations that the couple has been. The
memory will be done when a the couple take the photo that
matches the memory that they went into
Sober This idea will focus on an alcoholic man who wakes up after a heavy
night of drinking and realizes he's late for his date, he then rushes to
desperately make it on time. As he runs towards the restaurant he will
grab items out of shop fronts: Tie, flowers, Jacket. With flashes to the
female at the restaurant.
The performance part will be of him singing in a dark dimly lit room in a
jacket and smart clothing.
3. Song Why is it Narrative, Performance or conceptual? Also how Is it going to promote the
artist?
Born to Run The video will be performance based, with a small narrative of the main singer
traveling to different areas. This video will promote the artists as it will give the
audience an insight to the excitement of their shows. The video can also be
entertaining for the audience and spread over the internet.
Tenerife Sea The music video will be mainly narrative with bits of performance in with the
performer being in the memories with them. Not sure yet whether it will be better to
have the artist in the narrative or separate from the narrative. But if the artist is in
the narrative it will help promote him as it will make him more relatable to the
audience having a normal relationship bringing him down from his celebrity status
thus helping his image. This video will mainly be narrative as it suits the target
audience and style of Ed Sheeran's audience to expect a narrative video as his target
audience is very ranged so a narrative gives the audience a new story to follow
adding another layer to the song.
Sober The music video will be a split of narrative and performance at about 60/40, the
reason for this is because I feel it will add more to the lyrics and it will promote the
artist of course in terms of him starring in it but also shaking up his image and
persona in the video from his very clean cut and smart artist to a different version
that people may be able to relate to more as it shows him to be a normal human
being. It is effective for the artist because it targets his target audience as they will
have just discovered alcohol.
4. Song What is the USP?
Born to run The USP for the artists will be the smart, checkered shirts with
suspenders and a bow tie. Smart trousers to complete the
look. The band will also have a symbol to represent
themselves.
Tenerife sea The USP for the artist will be smart casual wearing with suit like
costumes with for example a shirt with a blazer and the main
USP will be a fedora hat that he will be known for that will
appear in every shot he is in and on all ancillaries to identify
him.
Sober The USP of the artist would be his smart clothes and intelligent
manner. This would come in the form of a suit and tie and a
fancy watch. The suit would be full black and a classy silver
watch and rings perhaps. This is to round out the "Intelligent"
and smart look.
5. Song How will the ancillaries connect to the music video?
Born to run The magazine advert will consist of a photo the band in a
beetles kind of with each of them in a different column
showing a different background (road, park, city and a studio).
The digipak will show a similar thing.
Tenerife sea The ancillaries will connect to the music video as the artist will
always be front and centre in both the music video and the
digipak and magazine advert with his USP of his fedora hat
shown throughout the music video and ancillaries. He will be
surrounded by nature and bright imagery around with a bright
background most likely outside making him shine in the light
and look like a positive image.
Sober Ancillaries would be a bright cover of the man with his head in
his hands in his room with bottles and pieces of clothing
around him- from the video. That would be the cd cover, the
magazine advert will consist of the man in a bar with the
clothes he got from the video with a few empty glasses
