2. Wrong Way BY: Yakul
Released: August 20, 2021
- Yakul is a jazz/soul band of four from Brighton.
- They create introspective and emotive lyrics with deep
grooves and jazz-infused progressions, they’ve created a
sound that is peerless in its musical depths and its voracious
fusion of styles and vibes from across the musical spectrum.

3. - The song gives us a story of a relationship that isn’t working out well, its going the “Wrong Way”.

4. - The genre of Wrong Way is Indie Pop.
- Indie Pop is a music genre or subculture the combines guitar pop and DIY ethic in opposition
to the style and tone of mainstream pop music.
- Typically in indie pop music videos most characters in these music videos tend to wear casual
clothing, with dull colours such as olive, black, white and brown. Men tend to wear rolled up
shirts, t-shirts, jeans, coats and boots, whilst women tend to wear plain clothes such as hoodies
and jeans.
- Setting wise, indie pop videos are usually set in low budget locations such as urban areas,
parks, and woods.

5. - The performance set-up of the video would be the band in a run-down location like a garage.
- There will be some pull focus shots between each of the cast.
- The main part and focus of the video will be the performance part.
- The other set-ups would be videos of them behind the scenes, being silly etc. This can be filmed
on the same camera or on an old VHS camera.

6. - In indie pop music videos, there is commonly a slight sepia effect to the videos, as well as
some videos having a filter being put over the top of the video to create effect. The use of sepia
can be seen here in Tom O’Dell’s music video for his song Another Love.
- Because of this we could take a similar approach because it would be the best look to go with
the song that we have chosen.
- I think using an old VHS camera would be good to film some of the behind the scenes of the
bands messing around. This could be the set-up for when the bridge of the song starts.

7. - I was slightly influenced the Pumped-Up Kicks (official music video) BY: Foster The People.
- They had a lot of pull focus shots in their performance part of the video.

9. - There will be four boys in the band
- Lead singer
- Guitarist
- Bass
- Keys
- I think the band will be best presented as edgy
and cool, this can be achieved through the
way they dress and the set-up of the videos
that they are shot in.

10. - There isn’t much of a story to tell other than the relationship part and to show this a girl could
come into the picture.
- The main narrative is just portraying that no matter what is said in the song they are themselves
and happy with their friends.
- This would be shown through the goofy clips that are shown in the video.

11. - The style of the band would be edgy clothing like a skater.
- Baggy jeans
- Oversized t-shirt
- Trainers

12. - The opening shot would be the band walking into the performance location and getting ready into
their positions such as the lead singer standing behind the microphone, the drummer sitting behind
the drums etc.
- The goofy clips won't start to come into the video until the bridge of the song.
