Part One- Title Page
I need to add
more
coverlines to
the front page.
I managed to
create the
masthead,
strapline,
barcode and
one coverline.
4.
Developing Photos
This photo was used for the front cover. I enhanced it by giving it a yellow/orange
hue and a warm wash, mimicking the effect of stage lighiting, as though she was in
a spotlight onstage and cut out the background, replacing it with a solid purple,
fitting the colour scheme.

Developing Whole Page
I added extra
coverlines because I
only had one
originally. The title
of each is in the
same lime-green of
the title, whilst the
descriptions are
white. The font is
serif. This fits the
overall colour and
font scheme.
The purple
background is the
same as the
background of the
double-page spread.
I changed the colour
balance, hue and
saturation of the
image to look as
though she is under
stage-lights.

Part 2- Contents Page
I successfully
created
multiple
sections for the
contents.
I repeated the
masthead.
I continued the
colour scheme
of green,
purple and red
and kept a
serif style font.
I need to add
more photos to
the contents
page
which link to
the articles.

Developing Photos
Contents Page
I removed the background, leaving it a solid black, bringing focus to the person
rather than the surroundings. I used saturation, contrast and a yellow hue in
the same way as on the other pages, to look like stage-lighting on her face.
8.
Developing Whole Page
I made the font of the
contents page
smaller (size 12)
because most music
magazines rarely use
a font larger than
that for anything
apart from headings.

Part 3- Double-Page Spread
I am building
the double-
page spread
on ‘InDesign’.
I have linked
the text boxes
over 2 pages
and separated
them into text
boxes.
I still need to
add photos
and a title as
well as
changing the
background
colour.

Developing Photos
This photo was used on my double-page spread. I enhanced in the same way as the
title page, creating the same spotlight effect. This is suitable as it fits the genre and is
also quite eye-catching.

Developing Whole Page
I made the
background
colour
deeper,
matching the
title page
more and
appearing
brighter.
I kept the
interview
on one page
and used
the other
just for
photos and
quotes
pulled from
the article.
