SOCIAL MARKETING

Marketing
• The action or business of promoting and selling products or
services, including market research and advertising. It
includes the coordination of four elements called the 4 P's
of marketing:
(1) identification, selection and development of a product,
(2) determination of its price,
(3) selection of a distribution channel to reach the
customer's place,
(4) development and implementation of a promotional
strategy.
What is social marketing
• Social marketing is an approach used
to develop activities aimed at
changing or maintaining people's
behaviour for the benefit of
individuals and society as a whole.
Needs of social marketing
• Social Marketing works to help people change their behaviors
to become healthier or to improve society or the world .
We can say that social marketing is the use of commercial
marketing methods to persuade people to change their
behaviors for reasons that go beyond the rational facts to
appeal to their core values.
Social marketing provides a technique and a process for
effectively making changes.It generally consists of 5 steps :
1) Research 4) Execute
2) Plan 5) Evaluate
3) Design
Social marketing helps build brands, loyalty, customer
base and much more.It helps by
• Connecting with customers
• Positioning businesses in the marketplace
• Promoting banding
• Increasing sales because of increases in exposure
Elements
• The social marketing technique is used to
achieve the society’s satisfaction as a whole
• The social marketing is an instrument to
achieve the aim of the society. i.e population
control, introduction of computer as a subject
in school etc.
• Creating a healthy and favourable attitude
among people.
