• Participated in design of pavements for MCW, Toll Plaza, Service Roads, Junctions and Wayside Amenities,
and drafting pavement design reports for the same.
• Participated in pavement quantity estimation during the tendering stage of the project.
UNNAO LUCKNOW EXPRESSWAY PROJECT
Development of Agra-Lucknow Access Controlled Expressway (Green Field Project)
Roles & Attainments:
• Contributed to incorporation of subgrade soil stabilization using cement and preparing construction
methodology for the same.
• Reviewed the mix design for BC and DBM mixes, prepared at site, to assess that whether the required
volumetric properties are being attained.
HOSPET CHITRADURGA ROAD PROJECT
Four Laning of Hospet Chitradurga Section of NH 13 (New NH 50)
Roles & Attainments:
• Performed structural evaluation for 40 km of in-service flexible road pavement by backcalculating elastic
moduli, using the deflection data from FWD, and estimated the overlay requirement using the backcalculated
moduli.
PROJECTS/ PAPERS DURING M.TECH
• Laboratory Investigation of High Modulus Bituminous Mixtures
Involved in developing a concept of high-binder high-modulus bituminous mixes as a solution that will not only
increase the serviceability and life of the flexible pavement but will also aid in reducing the construction cost and
resource preservation.
Under the guidance of Flexible Pavement Department, CSIR-CRRI, different laboratory tests were performed to
measure and evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of the harder grade bituminous binders and the
mineral. Bituminous mixtures were prepared for MoRT&H specified composition of Dense Graded Bituminous
Macadam (DBM) pavement layers and performance related test were carried on them to relate laboratory mix
design with the actual field performance.
• Formation of Database of Campus Road Network, Road Inventory, and Mapping of Road Network
Provided basic information needed for effective road and road system planning, management, operations and
maintenance, and measured the width of carriageway, shoulder, non-motorized lanes etc.
PROJECTS/ PAPERS DURING B.TECH
• Non-Destructive Evaluation of Structural Parameters for Concrete Structures – A Comparative Investigation
It involved evaluating structural strength of various components of some of the Indian Railways concrete bridges
using Non Destructive Testing methods and comparing the estimated results to highlight the effectiveness of a
particular method for a particular purpose.
• Structural Health Evaluation of Concrete Road Bridges – an NDT Approach
The paper discusses the methods utilized for Non-Destructive Testing & Evaluation of Indian Railway Road
Bridges, and the findings obtained were mutually compared to highlight the effectiveness of a particular method
in a specific situation or for a specific purpose. The paper was presented at ‘Civil Structural Health Monitoring
Workshop’ (CSHM-4) Berlin, Germany, 2012.
• Design Wind Loads on Reinforced Concrete Chimney – An Experimental Case Study
The paper looks into the interference and influence of strakes for wind load on Thermal Power Station (TPS)
chimneys. The paper was presented at ‘12th East Asia-Pacific Conference on Structural Engineering &
Construction’ (EASEC-12) Hong-Kong, China, 26-28 January 2011.
3. INDUSTRY INTERSHIP
• Central Road Research Institute, Delhi
Under the guidance of Transportation Planning Department, CSIR-CRRI, the P V Narsimha Rao expressway was
analyzed for any inadequacies in safety features. Necessary remedial safety measures and exemplary solutions
were also suggested on the basis of detailed study about Road Safety Audit.
• Northern Railway
Witnessed ongoing construction of two Road Over Bridges (ROBs), and, construction of a Road Under Bridge
(RUB) with special technique of box pushing (Trenchless method).
• Geo-technical Engineering Directorate, RDSO
Under the guidance of Research Design & Standards Organization (RDSO), laboratory tests were carried out by
on actual field samples collected from various Indian Railway sites.
