Evaluation Question 5: How did
you attract/address your
audience?

Target audience
 We researched into who we thought would be a suitable target audience for our
film; this would be for people who enjoy the thriller and horror genre as we include
blood in our film, therefore signifies the film as violent, however also psychological.
 We used close ups of Lucy, and a long shot of her looking in the mirror to convey
the film to be focusing on her state of mind which links to our target demographic.
 Finally, we used a high angle shot of Lucy to make her look isolated and anxious;
this would appeal to our target demographic of women as they will feel
sympathetic towards her.
Audience Feedback
 When producing our film, we believed using jump cuts would be
exciting and different for our audience. We watched a clip from ‘Fear
and loathing in Las Vegas’ which uses jump cuts throughout. We
thought this was effective in this film, therefore we used it in our film.
This proved to be successful in our audience feedback as people said
they really enjoyed them as it caused the narrative to be ‘disorientating’
and ‘exciting’. In addition, people also liked our point of view shots of
Lucy as it made them feel as if they were that situation.
 People also gave us constructive feedback, and stated that we could’ve
been more imaginative with our flashback transitions. For example, we
continuously used fade to black and fade to white for our flashbacks,
therefore we could of used a dissolve or wipe transition instead.
