3. Target Audience Profile
• My target audience is very much catered towards
music and an editor group of people as I want to
grip people with my own music that I used for the
music video and the visual arts that come along
with it and have them feeling like they can also do
it them their self and are all capable to do so. This
audience will mostly cater towards teens up to the
ages of 21 of any gender as music and video
editing has no gender or age boundaries.
7. Existing Product
In destroylonelys music video for "hldmyhnd. Wav" he is
mostly in an apartment, the street or in some sort of
doorway with a small light which creates a shadowed look
to the parts with lighting in but the ones without he's used
the night vision mode on the vhs camera to achieve a
unique look. He is mostly seen with either his white t-shirt
which contrasts the overall dark composition of three
music video or is seen in all black with his friends when he
is in the more lit areas.
With the use of the vhs
look along with the night
vision and mysterious
nature of the setting really
hooks the watcher in along
with the beat which
encapsulates a very
specific feeling that
correlates to the music
video making it more
hooking.
8. Existing Product
In ken Carson's music video for "Run + Ran" he has a wide variety of looks and styles which
really breaks the mould and gives it a unique look and feel which fully encapsulates the viewer
and ken as an artist. the first half of the music video has a teen house party feel with the use
of vhs camera shots mixed with shots of people drinking and having fun but is all in brighter
lighting making it feel like the "start" of the party. It then moves to darker lighting once he
goes upstairs into the bathroom and smokes which cause a more psychedelic look to appear
with lots of flashing bright colours and liquid like effects it also seems to turn the other party
goers into monster and by incorporation this body horror ken differentiates himself from the
rest making it very hooking and attractive to the watcher with its unique approach to the
visuals and switch halfway through.
9. Existing Product
In bloody Mary ft black Krays "king lamagra 222" music video there is a small range of effects
and shots with it taking place outside of a store and in what seems to be a caravan but even
with it being visually limited with locations and effects it still puts them to use and really
makes it gripping by it not having effects flashing everywhere and having a slightly more
traditional approach to a music video. It's all very well-lit as it is filmed under bright lights at
the store at night and during the day in the caravan, even with basic outfits throughout it
shows how raw it is and that they filmed it all in one day but still made a gripping product for
the audience with its unique sound of bloody Mary and black Kray.
10. Existing Product
In sematary ft ghostmoutains "bunny suit" music video there is a very specific look through
out of graininess and having it look rough around the edges, giving it a very homemade feel
on an old camera adding to the raw sound and look of the music video. It has basic colours,
but it really makes even those basic colours pop against the dark background for e.g. the
bunny suit and when they're next to the trees and graffiti it really keeps the watcher eyes
hooked onto those contrasting bright colours. The use of the baseball bat, knife and spirit
bottles really encapsulate sematarys sound as an artist and even more so through the video
which really hooks the watcher in due to his very unique look and artistic direction with all his
music videos.

• What common features do the researched
products have? - they all have lots of editing and
aftereffects to really separate themselves from
one another along with the old, vhs, grainy and
homemade look to some capacity.
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work? - I am going to try to use all
of it as I really enjoy the old vhs style looks along
with the use of lots of effects and really trying to
capture the feeling of the song through it all.
