2. Pre-proposal
Tell me in no more than 20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
I am going to d a music video with a song from one
of my favourite artists, friends or from myself
Why have you decided to make it? Because it allows me to have creative control of the
2 things, I’m passionate about and lets me express
it artistically
What about your project makes it important to
you?
The image and message behind the music and
video as I want to try to get across my vision and
express my style fully with it.
Outline some of the initial influences on your
idea/work and some potential research targets
(remember, research isn’t just a paper-based
activity)
Old vs style filming is what I’m going for, some the
influences I have are other music videos from, yung
bruh, destroylonley, sematary, title fight, bloody
Mary, playboy carti, old ps2 video games
What effect do you want to have on your audience
when they see your project?
To make them feel impacted by it and inspired to
go do it yourself as its all done by a max of 3
people.
Describe the tone/mood/style of your project
[which production techniques/characteristics are
you employing?]
An old vhs style and to have it very stylistic and a
moody/chill aura r a hard/dark one with high levels
of editing
Why have you decided to make your project in this
style?
Because I feel it reflects me best as a person and
incorporates all of my interests and aesthetic likes
into one big physical piece of work

3. Initial Reaction
• Music video – this was my initial idea as I feel I am best at
filming and editing as from the first music video we did t the
start of the year but this time with a proper camcorder and a
lot more higher quality editing.
• A podcast – I feel I could also do a podcast as I would make it
about news/ points of interest in the underground
music/fashion scene today and what's new and my opinions
on it along with my friends.

Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• There is a repetition of image styles as it all has the old vhs,
grainy, hyper edited look which all sort of encapsulate the
same mood. There is a differentiation of colours but they all
have that dark look overall.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• It'll definitely take a big impact as the things on the mood
board are the looks I'm going for and definitely will help and
influence it.

7. Influence/Inspiration
• Sematary - age 21
• Hes a rapper from America and has a strong work ethic for his music and is
only about the music and nothing else as he said in an interview. His image is
unique, raw and grainy with a sense of Chicago drill scene from the 2000s. He
said he hasn’t really explored much into the music scene of underground rap
but did say his big inspirations are black kray, yung lean, chief keef all the way
to black metal bands. he also believes image is very important for business as
he doesn’t condone the use of drugs and those things. He plays some guitar,
power chords etc and used to play piano as a kid he even sometimes puts his
guitar strings into his own music. He also takes influences from horror movies
such as texas chainsaw massacre, hereditary, pet sematary and many more old
horror movies which inspires his look and sound.

8. Influence/Inspiration
• Playboi carti - Jordan Terrell Carter
• He believes that the hard work will always pay off, he came from a rough
background in the trap, selling drugs to get by and living in a rough
environment but he grew up with music and grew up around people who
made music which was his main drive to get out of the trap and get his
friends out with him. He has always had a passion for music and grew up
on Gucci Maine and eventually gained a connection to him. At the age of
25 he has sold millions and gained millions of streams he has also
modelled for the late Virgil abloh for louis Vuitton and Givenchy. His
influence on music and the modern fashion scene is undeniable and has
moulded a new wave for the youth in the music and fashion scene. He
grew up watching classic horror movies such as chucky and has moved to
Dracula and more gothic horror as his style has evolved. He has also made
his own music label named opium with artists such as ken Carson and
destroylonely.

9. Influence/Inspiration
• Ken Carson – Hubert Paul Flatt , age 18
• Ken has always pushed that you should always stay true to yourself and
always be the most positive image of yourself for those around you and
yourself, with him and carti growing up and coming up in the rap game he
has gained knowledge from him and knows his image and direction he
wants to go in. With the opium label comes a very specific look of dark,
grungy, high fashion, punk culture and much more, even though ken is in
the opium label he has his own specific look and unique styles with
influences of the project X movie and teen house party's giving his look
and sound a very specific feel as with his two most recent music videos
"rock n roll" which is more focused on him and his daily experience but
under the influence which produced some psychedelic visuals mixed with
animations and influences from kid cudi. His other music video "run + ran" goes
into that house party feel ken pushes forward but with yet again very psychedelic
visuals with even some images of body horror and monster makeup to possibly
show how he feels under the influence of drugs. He encapsulates the feeling and
image of being a teenager going out to party's and experimenting with life which
goes along with his alternate name "TEEN X" and further pushing this by having a
vhs style and influence into his music videos.

10. Skills Audit
• I believe I can develop my skills further in this
project by using capcut with the knowledge that I
have but also finding new and intuitive ways to
add to what I already know and what I don’t by
exploring new tools it has to give even though it
has its limitations and not as much opportunities
as other programs it allows me to edit at home,
for free and gives me complete control of the
edits I want to do and how much or little it effects
the video whilst giving a wide range of tools to
experiment with to develop my skills.

11. Why are you making this project?
• Because it allows me to artistically express
myself with the things I like and enjoy
watching. It lets me use my aesthetics',
influences, ideas and likes all come into one
physical watchable experience. It also
combines two of my favourite things and lets
me mould the into anything I want them to be
and into something I enjoy.

12. Hopes for the FMP
• To get a greater understanding of editing and
to make a product for myself that I am proud
of as I will be using my own music it may give
the extra skills, I need to be able to possibly
make my own music videos in the future.

13. Strengths and Limitations
• Strengths
• My knowledge with capcut its good and I've had lots
of practice so I can use my skills
• Capcut and all of its tools are free
• Capcut is easy to use once you know the basics and
can use the tools to the full capacity
• Weaknesses
• The tools to capcut are limited
• Some of the tools on capcut are preset
• May render out in lowe quality

14. Potential Research Activities
• Most of my research has been music videos of
my favourite artists such as destroylonely, black
kray, bloody mary, sematary, ken Carson, lil tracy,
playboi carti and much more. I sit and watch their
music videos regularly as it lets me pick up on the
styles I like and gives me influence.
