2. Process
• I used sony hd avchd handycam 9.2 megapixels for
all my shots to give it that grainy older look. At the
start I've used 2 effects of black diamonds and
hearts surrounding me and a body effect which
puts a cyber effect over me. I also used an overlay,
chroma key and an old digital film effect to give it a
deeper grainy look to it in conjunction with
transition animations and auto velocity. On the first
day me and Brandon went into town and got some
clips around the minster and the centre of town
and wen I got home I made some more for myself
in my room just so I could make sure I got what I
wanted wit the shots. I began editing that night
with the effects listed above on the clips to the left.
3. Process
In these sections I used a square
prism effect for the night vision
shots which we took by filming
my phone through the filter,
auto velocity and flash
transitions. I also used
transitions and cuts to the beat
throughout the whole music
video as it suite my style and
add o the look overall. The
center picture was taken on a
different date with matt and
Brandon and during through the
day rather than at night.
4. Process
I took all these shots outside Clifford's tower just
the top picture was taken on the day before at
night and with that lip I added a delay effect to the
original video then to the overlay I added a
transition so that it would come in and out
smoother of the shot. The second and their shot
were taken the day after during the day and the
second picture I used transitions to the beat and
the “invisible person” effect which morphs the
color of people in frame and for the last one I just
used a simple auto velocity and cut to the beat
with an overlay.
5. Process
the top shot was taken in m room the same
night, I boosted the brightness by 15 just to
make the video of me pop more and not be
completely overshowed by the overlay, I got
the shots at Clifford's tower with Brandon I
added chroma key to it and an overlay the
others were taken at Clifford's tower once
again the second picture I just used a simple
gold dust filter as it matches the lyrics I used,
the third ne we used the phone filter method
again and I add some cuts to the beat and
auto velocity for it. The final shot was just a
simple shot of my belt and tattoo with a
motion blur filter which cuts to the next part
which is a cleaner look to the same shot.
6. Process
In the shot at the top I got a video from a game called
bloodborne and then took the video from the filming day at
Clifford's tower, removed the background and then turned it
into the overlay layer to add personal feel as bloodborne is my
favourite game and giving depth to the shot too.
the second shot I got Brandon to hold up a filter over me on his
phone again to give it a unique look that ties into the
homemade look, I also added a glitch type effect on here to
make it seem like its being rewound as it connects to the lyrics
that repeat.
The third shot was just a basic shot of my hoodie which ties
back into the main chorus of the song which is “alexander on
my body” referencing to the hoodie and I just added a basic
chroma key to this as I wanted the hoodie to be the prominent
feature.
the last shot here was taken In my room as I wanted to add a
more personal aspect to my music video and with the lighting
from my leds I think it sets the tone very well but also separates
itself from the rest of the video with the bright red compared to
the blacks, greens, purples and blues. I also added a pulsing
pixel heart effect here along with the overlay which contrasts
the heart but still ties in to the overall look.
7. Process
in the first shot I used a interlacing which gave the clip a deeper vhs look by
making the interlacing more prominent on top of that I added a body effect
which gave me a light yellow outline which worked well with the interlacing and
brighter background giving it more pop and vibrance.
The second shot was the first shot that goes into the slowed section of the song
I put a double overlay of the skull and the bats which along with the overlay
added a grainy old look, I did up the brightness by 10 also just to give it a bit
more colour and vibrance.
The third shot was taken outside the court house which gave some unique
lighting of the orange lights along with the invisible body effect it adds a very
unique look of the morphing of my body with the orange light.
With the fourth shot I added a video overlay of an old jdm Japanese drifting
video as it ties into the lyrics “speeding real fast” and it is also a personal interest
of mine so I felt it was very fitting.
The fifth shot I just wanted a clean shot that broke up the heavily edited shots
but I also did brighten this up by 20 as the shot was very dark.
The sixth shot was the very final shot of the music video so I decided to wrap it
up fittingly with an overlay of the heartagram which is a running theme in the
music video and a classic horror drawing of a ghost. I also added a stutter effect
to the video at the end as it fits the song as in the end it stutters and has a
“breakdown”.
