1. My group's presentation was about Language Acquisition. Language
acquisition is essentially the ability of humans to communicate and comprehend a
language whether it is their native language or a second-language. This pillar is
important in 21st Century learning because it teaches students about other cultures
which helps to globalize our view point. In order to incorporate this pillar into
subjects that are not directly related to learning languages, it may take some
creativity. One could describe how other countries use different mathematical
notation, or talk about the origin of vocabulary and how the words in some
languages come from the same root. Technology can aid in this teaching by using
the internet to watch videos or listen to podcasts of people of the language or
culture being studied.
