Subject: Case No. 832F 730 Corona
Dear City of Alamo Heights,
We oppose the proposed design for the home to be built at 730 Corona. We live next door and would be adversely impacted
by this design.
The water flow issue is addressed in the revised drawings but the drawings are not signed and sealed with an official water
engineer’s stamp and appears to just have “suggestions,” so flood waters would very well be coming our way. The engineer also
states that calculations have not been done yet, so what is the value of this revised plan?
In addition, the height of the garage puts the floor of the proposed garage just inches below the top of our 6’ fence on the
property line. Just imagine that! They plan to add over 5’ of fill to raise the height of the lot?
We want to be good neighbors but we ask the city to take a good hard look at these plans and help the homeowners come up
with something that is to code and is based on actual measurements, and also is compatible with the neighborhood. An
engineering study we commissioned said that the measurements and calculations used in the drawings are not correct. How can
that be?
This is a massive structure that they propose, very much larger than anything else on our street, and the water flow and looming
issues are very real for us.
Thank you for time in helping us resolve this matter so the Collins can get on with building their home.
Lastly, the instructions for the June 15 meeting were confusing. You state that the meeting is by telephone conference, yet in the
same paragraph it says masks are encouraged and seating will be limited. Can you please clarify if we phone in or attend in
person?
Best regards,
Connie and John McNab
