2. SUMMARY
 Council included funds for area beautification
improvements in FY 2024 Budget
 Council workshops in August & October 2023
identified potential improvements
 Refreshing of landscape zones of parking lots &
streetscapes in area surrounding Alamo Heights Pool
 Landscaping & configuration improvements to intersection
at Broadway & Ogden Lane
 Agreements with TBG Partners (TBG) for professional
landscape architectural design services

3. BACKGROUND
 FY 2024 Budget included at least $3.0 million for
beautification improvements
 Funding sources included proceeds from both General Fund &
federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
 $1.5 million remaining ARPA Funds must be committed (via contract)
no later than December 31, 2024 & spent by December 31, 2026
 TBG led two Council workshops in August & October 2023 on
potential beautification projects, including improvements in
Alamo Heights Pool area & to intersection at Broadway &
Ogden

6. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
SERVICES
 TBG to provide landscape architectural design services
in order to prepare & develop site schematic design
documents for each project
 Schematic design timeline approximately 10-14 weeks
per project
 Specific project improvement budget not provided; TBG
assumes construction budget of:
 $750K to $850K for Heights Pool area
 $1 million for Broadway/Ogden Lane

7. POLICY ANALYSIS
 Consistent with City practice to negotiate fees for
professional services
 Consistent with City’s interest to have professional
expertise to articulate & incorporate City
priorities in project
 Key project funding source – ARPA – must have
funds committed no later than December 31,
2024

 Resolutions authorize City Manager to approve
agreements totaling $79,800.00 to TBG for
landscape architectural design services for both
projects
 Resolution 6a. Alamo Heights Pool area - $42,800.00
 Resolution 6b. Broadway & Ogden Lane - $37,000.00
 Total amount budgeted in FY 2024 Budget
 Future Council action required to authorize construction
contract(s)
