I chose this model because she is the main
race of American R & B artists which is black.
Therefore she fit with the R & B genre more
since black artists such as Usher have
produced best selling R & B songs such as U
got it bad. Furthermore her hairstyle (braids) is
the typically hairstyle that a lot of R & B artists
have such as The Weekend.
The model is doing that pose in order to make her
stand out against other R & B artists. For example
most R & B artists pose while looking straight at the
camera for their magazine photoshoot. Therefore
those type of poses are quite common to appear on
R & B magazine. However this pose is different from
those typical poses since she looked away from the
camera when I took the photo. Hence this will make
her stand out to the reader that is reading the
magazine.
The model is wearing

colours and neutral
colours. This is important

can be quite emotional
therefore if the model
was wearing hot bright
pink it wouldn’t suit the R

when they are feature on

the cover page of Vibe
magazine where he wore
multiple necklaces
suchas a silver chain, a
big gold ring and multiple
bracelets.

The model is doing that pose
because it is normal. This fit in
within the R & B genre
because a lot of music artists
are often seen doing normal
poses in their music video.
For example Drake whose is a
popular R & B artist is just
doing a simple/normal pose of
standing up when he is going
up the lift in Headlines music
video.
The model is wearing that outfit because it is casual. For
example a lot of early 2000s R & B artists wore casual
clothes such as track suit bottoms and trainers when
producing their songs. For example Aaliyah often wore
track suit bottoms in her music video for her songs back in
the early 2000s.
Another reason why this model is wearing this outfit is
because the clothes consist of dark colours and neutral
colours. This is important because R & B songs can be
quite emotional therefore if the model was wearing hot
bright pink it wouldn’t suit the R &B genre.
I chose this model because she has black hair that will compliment the outfit
very well. For example her black hair compliments the black t-shirt and the
kickers. Also she could do different poses for me in the photo shoot with ease.
Hence this gave me the opportunity to have a wider selection of photos for me
to pick and to use in my magazine content page.
