CharlotteBracken's Proposal

 1. 1. Proposal
By Charlotte Bracken
2. 2. Musical style and popular artists
The music style that I will be doing my media work on is R&B. I will cover different aspects of the R&B styles in which they have been portrayed in magazines and I will relate the magazine to match the style of the music. For instance R&B is known as soul music, and soul makes me think of smooth and soft things so this could help.
Both females and males listen to it and they are people who may be considered as ‘chavs’. Even though not all of them are chavs people of these ages listen to it. This genre of music is considered to know as black music as mainly all of the R&B artists are black.
23. 23. House style
For my magazine I will consider:
Layout-

Masthead At the top of the cover

 40. 40. Grey, Black, Yellow

Focus group
Q: Why do you prefer to listen to R&B?
A: R&B is relaxing to listen to. It isnt to much, with head banging music, or too much beat, The music is calm and it can change someone's mood. It can create a chilled atmosphere for people who enjoy listening to it. Plus the genre is also known as soul music, and the artists have very good voices.
41. 41. Q: In a male solo artist, why do you prfer to listen to Eminem?
A: Eminem is real. He doesn’t rap about girls, drugs or sex like most artists who talk about it as if its a good thing. Eminem raps about his life, and life in general. When he raps about sex, girls and drugs he does it in a way people can relate because he knows lifes not easy. Many people can relate to it. He can be seen as a role model for males and a man girls fancy. He raps about his life and he shares it with the world.
42. 42. Q: In a female solo artist, why do you prefer to listen to Beyonce?
A: Beyonce is sexy. There’s no doubt about that. Boys take a large fancy to her because of her curves and voice. Females see her as a role model and inspirational. Girls enjoy her as she’s the diva of R&B. Her voice is very powerful and people say she suits the genre of music she sings as R&B can be considered black music. Beyonce appeals to both genders and is just great!
