2. What is a audience?
An audience is a group of people
assembled or generalised to, to
experience something such as a play,
film, song, and so on.
Having a target audience is key,
this is when a medium choose a
specific age range, and gender to
aim their product. It’s essential to
have this to know what type of
people you’re trying to please
whilst making your film sequence
As our film is a horror, it
will have a certificate of
15 and will be targeted at
ages 15-35 to both
genders
3. As shown, the BFI statistics show how
the most preferred genre is action,
which is why in our horror genre we
have contained more aspects of action
such as murder and stalking.
This also made us doubt whether we
should still do the genre of horror
hence why we decided to do our own
research more local, to find out more
about our audience,
4. This is what we learnt after going out to
follow up with some research within the
community. This helped us decide the ages
to target for our film, and the age group
also benefitted us as
5. Another factor which helped us was
looking at the ages 19-24 economic,
cultural, and social status. This can
benefit us by giving an insight on
what price we can set our DVDs, and
budget as young people would
include student who would prefer
affordable luxuries.
6. The USP for my film is that it’s a woman who is the hero of the plot, and as the films aimed
at young people, controversial ideas will be more openly accepted as young people won’t be
used to set rules and regularities used in majority of films.
