2. Style sheet
I want my film to have a slightly
blue tint throughout the film to
give it a cold and business like
look, showing the negativity
this world provides.
During flashbacks I will use an
orange tint in order to show a
more warm and loving time in
contrast to the cold reality of
present day.
9. Costumes
• Alex:
– Black t-shirt, jeans, hoodie. This outfit, whilst similar to the
others will stand out as different and set Alex apart from the
rest of the crew.
• Noah
– Dark clothes, big coat, shirt, jeans. This is to help establish Noah
as the leader, and as a powerful and strong figure who isn't to
be messed with.
• Evie
– All black. Leather jacket. This gives her a look of power, the
leather jacket makes her look intimidating and badass, but also
adds an element of charm.
• Charlie
– Dark clothes, shirt, jeans, gloves. This is to make him look smart,
but the addition of the gloves makes him seem slightly more
unhinged than the rest of them, due to the fact they give the
appearance of a hitman.
10. Costumes Continued
• Tactical Police Officers:
–Black shirt, black trousers (combat
preferably, but if not regular trousers),
combat boots, and tactical vest (provided
by me). This will give them the full look of a
tactical police force and will help make
them look as believable and realistic as
possible.
11. Character Breakdown
• Alex
– Alex is a 16 year old genius who enjoys working with
computers, and in particular hacking computers. He is
hired by a criminal organization to hack for them during
the heists they run in exchange for a cut of the money. He
is cocky and overly confident in his abilities, which is
ultimately his weakness.
• Noah
– Noah is responsible for running the heists for the
organization. He has a short fuse and a bad temper, and
hasn’t got much time for a sense of humor. If something
goes wrong, he will make sure he takes care of it one way
or another.
12. Character Breakdown Continued
• Evie
– Evie is the voice of reason on the team. Although
badass, she is ultimately very kind and caring, and
particularly has soft spot for Alex, but will be
willing to do what she has to do to make things go
smoothly.
• Charlie
– Charlie is a slightly unhinged. He isn’t very bright
and is generally uncaring about most things. He is
easily manipulated by Noah and often does as he
says.
13. Equipment
• For my camera I was originally considering using the DJI OSMO which is typically
what I would use to film, due to the self stabilizing feature of the camera, however,
I decided instead to use a Samsung Galaxy S9+ as it has advantages such as being
small and lightweight, allowing me to get shots I wouldn’t be able to get as easily
with the OSMO. I also wanted to get a large number of quick handheld shots which
is a lot easier for my camera crew and looks more effective with the Galaxy S9. The
4K, lowlight, and slow-motion features on the camera were what sold me finally
with this camera as they helped make my film look effective and also allowed me
to use slow-motion sequences within my film which I wouldn’t have been able to
use otherwise.
• For audio I intend to use a Rode Microphone with the Zoom H1 sound recorder.
This is because it will allow me to get a clearer and crisper sound than the sound
from the camera, but also, the use of an external recorder means I have a backup
incase the recorder fails.
• To edit my film I will use Adobe Premier Pro 2018, which will be useful because of
all the professional level features, which many film makers in the industry use for
their movies. I can add a wide selection of effects and can use it with programs
such as Adobe’s After Effects which will allow me to add further effects that may
not be available to me within Premier Pro. I can also use Adobe Audition alongside
it in order to improve the sound quality of my film and manipulate the sound
accordingly.
