2. Process
• For my experiment I created a short sketch to re-familiarise myself
with Premier Pro and to experiment with camera angles and how to
get the best image out of my shoot. I then went out and shot a
mostly improvised sketch shot by shot until I had a complete story.
• Something I have learnt is that it is important to get a variety of
different shots from different angles for variation. I’ve also learnt
about the 180 degree rule and how I can use it to show the shift of
power in my film, for example, in my experiment it is a drug deal
gone wrong and to begin with the drug dealer has all the power but
half way through the 180 degree line switches when the characters
move, putting the characters on opposite sides, showing that the
dealer is losing the power in the scene.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– In my product I plan on using Premier Pro to edit my
film and will make sure I make use of all the
techniques and skills I have learnt so far.
– I will also make sure to shoot a variety of different
angles and distances for shots and take a number of
the same shots for safety so I have choice when
editing.
– I will also make use of techniques such as the 180
degree rule where I can manipulate it to show the
power in dialogue.
