2. From my target audience research I have
found that my target audience is half male
and half female. This is important for me to
know, so that I can tailor the contents/ colour
scheme for my magazine.
3. The average of my target audience are 20
years old. This is important to know before
planning my magazine so that I can plan my
magazine around the target audience. This is
also important when talking to my focus
group to find out what people of that age
would want to and expect to see in a music
magazine.
4. I found out from the results that my target
audience buy magazines monthly. This is
helpful to know as it shows that they do not
read magazines frequently. This tells me that
in my group focus I need to ask why they do
not purchase magazines often.
5. For this question my target audience are
collectively most bothered about the
musicians on the cover of the magazine and
interviews with musicians. This is helpful to
know for when I start creating my magazine,
as it lets me know what my audience would
most want in it.
6. There is no clear most popular vote in this
answer as the two most popular magazines
were the wire and NME. In close second was
Q and Kerrang!. In my focus group I will need
to find out why they read these magazines
7. From my research I have found that my
target audience are willing to pay up to £10
on a magazine. This will help me to price my
magazine within the guidelines my survey
has given me.
8. The results from this question have helped
me determine what type of magazine my
target audience would like to see. The most
popular votes were rock and indie-rock. This
is a good result for my magazine as this is
what I wanted to focus my magazine around
anyway. The two other responses were RnB
and all genres.
9. From the results you can see that most of the
responses from my survey said that they find
new artists on streaming services ( YouTube,
Spotify, Apple Music). This is helpful to know
when trying to find new artists to feature in
my magazine.
10. From this answer it is clear to see that the
majority answer is that my audience would
expect to see interviews rather than news in
my magazine about alternative/indie/rock.
11. Also from my research it is obvious to see
that my target audience would want to see
more about current artists than upcoming
artists in my magazine. However because
there were also a large proportion of my
target audience wanting up features on new
artists, I should still include a small segment
of the magazine for that.
