2. Process: character designs
The process for these character designs is
that I started off drawing it on photo shop
using my drawing tablet. I started of drawing
the body using simple shapes in a sketch like
style. When I was one sketching and satisfied
with it I started to smooth out everything
using the eraser tool. Then I started to draw
the face and head doing a similar method. I
feel that the look of the villain came out
better than the main character as the face on
the main character looks a little to simple
mainly because I struggle to draw human
noses. On the main character I had to also
use another layer for the hair because grey
doesn’t show up on anything black on a single
layer
3. Process: mascot design
This was created by first looking at
what a chibi Cthulhu would look
like as my game is a horror game
inspired by Lovecraft. Using those
images I came up with this. Buy
taking a public domain black and
whit image and changing it
slightly. I like the idea of this being
the mascot as its cute and it will
get player to want to get the
merch and even play the game
4. Process: game case design
This was created buy placing the title screen art
onto a case template then put the age rating in
the corner. I feel this is a good looking cover art at
it give the sense of mystery with the faded outline
of the figure behind the title. I did have issues
making this because there were so many gaps
when I was using the paint can it ended up
accident accidentally making the entire screen
grey. The other issue was to draw the out lines
around the main image so when I made the
background it wouldn’t all be black. When I did
this I accidentally made the grey outlines which
faded the image which made it better than what I
orginaly imagined fro what it to look like
5. Process: Bag merch
This was created by getting imaged of
unbranded messenger bags and scaling
them to an size then placing the image of
the mascot on top of them by scaling it to
the space on the bag and rotating to
match it to the angle of the bag so it looks
like its apart of the bag. This looks cool
and cute for any one to get. There wasn’t
any issues making these other than the
fact I had to angle the Cthulhu to make it
look right
6. Process-in game sprites
I made these in a 50x50 pixel image
and using the pencil tool I made
sprites from looking at images of
weaponry and making them in pixel
form when I was done I enlarged the
image by going to image size. I like the
look of my sprites as they look like
what they meant to but the only one I
feel that needs improvement is my
Winchester style shot gun as the stock
doesn’t look right I may have to
update it when I make the game fully.
