2. Gender?
• I made sure my sample was equal between gender, this means my
sample is not gender bias and therefore makes my questionnaire
more reliable. I gave my questionnaire to 10 people, 5 male and 5
female. Gender?

3. Age?
• It was difficult to keep my sample from being age bias as I didn’t have
many people I could ask. Most people I asked were friends from my
class which fall under the 11-20 age group. I then asked my family
which is where I got other age groups from.

4. Favourite Film Genre?
• I asked my participants this as I have more idea on what is the
preferred genre, generally. I asked with 7 categories and an another
box. In this box people wrote down romance which I forgot. This
shows that horror was a good choice as many people enjoy this
genre.

5. Do You Enjoy Horror Films?
• I feel this question helped me out the most wither genre and
audience research. I could divide this question up into gender and age
categories to find out what gender and age prefers horror films. I
found this really beneficial as I can use this to please my audience. I
can have my actors the same age/gender as my audience so they can
relate and catch their attention and keep them engaged.

6. Do You Enjoy Horror Films? (Gender)
• By dividing up the question like this, I can see that there is a slight
variation in gender when it comes to enjoying horror films. My results
tell me men are a bigger ran of horrors than women. However
splitting it up like this means my sample for each reduced to 5 which
is very small and may not be very representative.

7. Do You Enjoy Horror Films? (Age)
• This has really helped me with audience research as its given me a
clear idea about my audience. I can see a horror genre is very pleasing
for the younger generation rather than the older generation.
Therefore, I feel using younger actors will be more engaging for the
audience. This younger ages audience may be due to the adrenaline
and excitement caused by horror films which the young thrive for.

8. What Is It You Like Most About Horrors?
• I used this question to give me an idea of what is most important to
include in my film introduction to keep my audience interested. I
found that the three most enjoyed factors are suspense, mystery and
the jump. Therefore, gore isn’t as important so I feel I should focus
more on the suspense and jump to create effect and please my
audience.

9. What Do You Dislike Most About Horrors?
• I asked this to back up my previous question and really find out what
the audience wants. I also left an option for other on this and my
audience said to dislike the plot of a horror film, therefore I am going
to try to make sure I do this well. Its also reassures my audience
thrive for mystery so I shall try hard to include this in my film.
