2. Background
• The nature of intelligence as it is related to adult development and
learning can be revealed in many categories and theories that
approaches the human potential for development. The theory of
multiple intelligences was created by Howard Gardner, Ph.D.,
Professor of Education at Harvard University. The human potential
outlines that people have skills (intelligences) and capabilities.
4. Intelligences
• Interpersonal Intelligence- detect and responds appropriately to moods, desires of others, motivation
• Intrapersonal Intelligence-
• Verbal-linguistic Intelligence- verbal skills well developed, sound sensitivity, words meaning and rythmn
• Logical-mathematical Intelligence- logical and numerical patterns discernment, conceptually and abstractly thinking
• Spatial Intelligence-visual-thinking in pictures and images
• Musical Intelligence- rhythmn, pitch, and timber appreciation and production
• Bodily-kinesthetic Intelligence- ability to handle objects skillfully and control one’s own body movements
• Naturalist Intelligence- plants, animals, and objects of nature recognition and in categories
• Existential Intelligence- tackle deep questions about human existence (Gardner, 2010).
