2. The main image on this content is taking up two
of the four columns (half the page) that the page
has been split up into. The image dominates the
page as it is more visually attractive for the
audience. As this one images is half the pages
this means that the article that goes with it must
be relevant at that time.
The largest font on the page is the name of the
magazine and has been positioned at the top of
the page as it reminds the reader what they are
reading. ‘Contents’ is the second largest font so it
stands out to the reader and again tells them
what they are reading. The font size 11pt should
be the biggest text on a contents page.
The colour scheme is kept by using three
colours, making sure the reader is able to reader
the text on the page. The use of black text on a
white background ensures that the reader will be
able to read it and that they are not dazzled my a
load of bright colours.
The page number have been split into
subheading making it easier for the reader to
navigate their way through. Within those
subheading the page numbers are listed in
chronological order to make it even easier for the
reader to find the page they are looking for.

3. The contents title is the largest text on the page
as they want it to stand and out and catch the
readers eye. It makes it clear to the reader what
they are actually reading. The masthead ‘Empire’
is also positioned at the top of the page telling
the reader what magazine it is they are reading.
The main image is dominating the page as the
reader finds that more attractive rather than a
block of text. It will there for look more
aesthetically pleasing and interesting to the
reader. As it is so big it must have a a lot of
relevance at that time.
The page numbers are in a large font and a
different colour so that they stand out to the
reader and are easily noticeable. They have also
listed each of the page number in chronological
order so it is way to navigate through.
The colour scheme makes it look clean and
formal as they have only used a range of three
colours: red, black and white. This makes it
easier for the reader as they are not
overwhelmed by a load of bright colours.
The page has been divided into two columns. In
the first column is the text and the part of the
image which has the plainest colour and not
much detail. In the second column the subject is
sitting up right in a chair.
