2. Contents Title
The title of the contents page is the largest font on the whole page.
This is similar to what it is done on the front cover with the
masthead. The contents page of a music magazine always has the
title because it lets the reader know exactly what it is they are
reading even if they already know.
Images
Photographs dominate the majority of the contents page. Images are
a lot larger than the text and take up more space. Using images
makes the contents page look a lot more visually aesthetic and
therefore more appealing to look at.
Layout
Music magazine’s contents pages usually keep to a 3 to 4 column
grid. This makes text easier to read as it is difficult to read straight
across the width of page without losing your space and getting
confused. The fot size never exceeds the minimum of 11 pt's and
the issue number/date reappears but at the top of the page.
3. Images
The size of the photographs included in Kerrang’s contents page,
along with the majority of other contents pages, changes based on
how important the article. For example the image of Marilyn Manson
is the largest image as the main article of the whole magazine is
about them.
Page numbers
The page numbers are different in size, font or effect to the text it is
linked to. This is done because it makes them stand out make it easier
for the reader to navigate their way through.
Regulars anf Features
Music magazines split their contents into regulars and features. The
regulars usually contain competitions held in every issue of the
magazine and information about music related events. The features
of music magazines usually contain articles about different artists
and bands that are in the public's eye at that certain time.
