2. The contents masthead is positioned on the
left hand side of the page along with the
magazines masthead ‘karrang!’. As this is
the first thing that catches the eye, the
design of the contents page is used in all the
other Karrang contents pages. This creates
recognition and also a constant layout/
style. The use of white on the masthead
makes it stand out against the blue
background and the yellow contents is also
clearly visible and eye catching.
There are subheading used on the right
hand side of the page to break different
articles up into sections making it much
easier for the reader to find something. d
The images show previews to other
articles featured in the magazine. The
image used are of the featured double
page articles to show the audience
what the page looks like along with the
article headline and the image of which
artist the article is focused on.
The main mastheads are placed in a blue
banner across the top of the page making
the mastheads more eye catching.
The main image is a medium long shot
of the lead singer from ‘we are the
crowd’. The imaged used is quite bright
and vibrant which reflects who the artist
is and the style and genre of the music.
The subjects hands are faming her face
and are almost grabbing the audience to
read the article while also suggesting
the article will be focused on her. It also
using direct address making the reader
feel more involved and attracted to the
article.
The main colour scheme is blue,
white, yellow ad black. The colours
contrast and compliment each other
well making the text stand out more
on e page. The colours used also
reflect the upbeat and fun image of
the main article. The colours black and
yellow are also relatable and are
consistently used in other contents for

positioned at he top of the page. The
masthead sets the simple colours
scheme of red, black and white so the
reader can instantly distinguish this to
be ‘Q’ magazine. The magazine uses the
same colour to create a professional
finish and recognition which will attract
its target audience.
The subheading help the reader
to establish where the
information for the pages within
the magazine are, the red
background links in with the
colour scheme and also the use
of the white makes the writing
stand out.
The sub images shows the
audience what to expect from the
magazine while also showing
what its about. Easily recognisable
artists are used in the sub images
to make it clear and easy for he
audience to establish who he
page is about while also enticing
them to read on to he net page.
The page number vary in size
depending o the size of the sub image
and also the importance of the
article. The variation in size makes
the page more attractive and eye
catching to the audience. The page
numbers also follow he colour
scheme of the magazine.
The main image is an extreme close up
of a model. The image contains the
same blood as the front cover creating
a synergy between the two. She is
looking directly at the camera creating
direct address making the reader feel
more involved.
This shows the audience that the
article will feature information about
the internet.
Describes what the magazine is
about, “Great Music”. This suggests
that all the articles are on the best
artists and bands. Attracts a wide
audience.
