Working Title:
The I’ll Be Right Back Podcast
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose:
My products purpose is to educate the audience on the horror movie Evil Dead while also being as
entertaining as possible. I will achieve this by giving facts on the movie and my thoughts on it; to
make it entertaining to the audience it will be informal and hopefully slightly funny.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre:
This episode will be on a supernatural horror film; overall it’s a horror movie podcast with comedic
elements to it.
What sort of product is it
Content
My product is a podcast that reviews horror movies in 4 sections; for example: a plot breakdown,
facts, behind the scenes and opinions. Each section would be a minute long with 30 seconds at
the start and end for a jingle and intro/outro. The story of the film I’m reviewing is that five friends
go to a cabin in the woods before summoning a demon and fighting for their lives.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience:
My primary age range will be 15–25-year-olds because at that age you’re scientifically more likely
to seek thrills; you’d be more likely to enjoy a horror film as they are tense and contain jump
scares. The secondary ae range will be 26-70-year-olds as most horror films age certificates are at
least 15 so it couldn’t be any younger than that. Also, after the age of 70 you might not enjoy the
feeling of being scared for health reasons, etc.
My products primary audience is male and female because in horror films both genders get good
representation as you commonly get female and male protagonists and antagonists. For example,
“Ready or Not” has a female protagonist called Grace who is played by Samara Weaving and in
“The Thing” the protagonist is male, the protagonist being Macready who is played by Kurt Russell.
My primary social status is working class and middle class because that’s my social status which
means we might have similar opinions and use similar language because of how we were raised.
Another reason is it’s affordable as it’s going to be on free services like YouTube and Spotify. The
secondary social status is upper class for the same reasons as the primary audience but to a
lesser extent because if the content is free, you’re more likely to watch it then if it costs money.
The primary psychographic of my product is belongers as horror movies and podcasts are
mainstream nowadays due to things like “The Joe Rogan Experience”, so it’s an easy thing to find
mutual ground and fit in with. My products secondary social status is achievers because of how
convenient podcasts are to enjoy on the go, meaning you can listen to them while being
productive.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
The movie I cover (Evil Dead) could be construed as offensive; however, the way I cover it will not
be offensive to any social groups, ethnicities or religions because I’ll only be reviewing it and I
won’t make the review hard hitting. To make sure I don’t say or mention anything that could cause
offense I will follow ASA code 4.
I will restrict younger people from accessing my podcast as its age certificate is an 18 so it’s not
suitable for an audience younger than 15 even though the podcast won’t be grim, younger kids still
shouldn’t watch it. I will ensure I don’t advertise it to kids by following ASA code 5.
I will include music, which I will make on garage band to avoid getting sued for copyright, I also
may use audio clips from the film, but I will make sure they are fair use. My product will include
existing characters from Evil Dead but my product should be noticeably different to the point where
I won’t be stealing from the film and will just be fairly critiquing it.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will your product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
