3. Mayday Parade-Valdosta
• Photography- The image does not include any photographical images Instead it is made up
of graphics.
• Portraiture- The main graphic of the image is a women's face this shows her with her eyes
closed so she could be sleeping or dead however it does not link to the album name or
band in anyway.
• Integration or imagery and text- The main part of the text is laid over a women's hair and
the tail of the ‘R’ moves down to connect with her face. The album name is also
overlapping the band name this shows tat the band is more important than the album
because it is big and bold compared to the album name.
• Font styles- The band name is in a big thick font that is quite masculine and the sharp cut
edge gives it a rock feel which is the style of most of their songs. However this contrasts with
the album name which is in a smaller feminine text because it’s curly and flows.
• Use of colour- The colours are all quite bland and sepias or black and whites and then there
is a hint of red in the girls lips which stand out from the cover. The colours also resemble the
style of music they make which is normally about depressing topics with a hint of anger that
can be a connotation of red.
• Appropriateness- The album cover as a whole reflects the music that the band makes this is
through the colour and text used however the only way the image reflects the band is that
it could be a girl that is often featured in their songs.

5. Plain White T’s-Stop
• Photography- The image is of a photo of a stop sign, this image has been chosen
because the album is called stop and the sign is the focal point as they have
blurred the background.
• Portraiture- There is no portraiture used in this cover as the only image is of a
road sign.
• Integration or imagery and text- The band name is away from the image and is
placed in the corner of the photo which covers the whole front cover. The album
name is actually text on a road sign, this is a clever idea and means that they did
not have to disrupt the image by adding anything else to the front cover.
• Font styles- The band name is just in plain bold font but also like the other cover
it has sharp edges because of the rock style of their music.
• Use of colour- The colours are quite simple but the red sign makes it the main
focal point and attracts your eye quickly also for people that don’t know the
band very well will know that the word stop or the sign is something to do with
the band or album.
• Appropriateness- The album cover as a whole reflects the album alright because
the photo has been used in a clever way and the text also gives a hint to the style
of music however I think they could of made the style clearer and also featured
some of the band.

7. Lifehouse- All in
• Photography- The image is of the lead singer performing, this is a strong image as
it features the lead band member and also gives the atmosphere of a gig.
• Portraiture- The photo is more of a silhouette so you cannot see facial details.
• Integration or imagery and text- The text is at the top of the page and his hand is
going up to it and then the album name is on the edge of the photo.
• Font styles- The band name is more of a lighter font than the other two covers
and has more of a feminine style with it’s thinness this could be because they’re
music appeals more to females. The album name is in a thicker font that gives
the rockier edge.
• Use of colour- The main colour is blue but white and black is also used. The blue is
used because it is a photo that has been taken at a previous gig but the
connotations of this could be emotional and depressing which reflects some of
their music.
• Appropriateness- The album cover as a whole reflects the bands style of music as
it shows what he’s like on stage but I think it could be improved by the album
name being put differently to give a better idea on the style of music they make.
