1. The colour theme is frequent
throughout this digipak, the use
of red is used on every side. On
three of the sides, there is a
wide photo of Rihanna lying on a
bed of roses.This could
represent strength or power, as
these are connotations of the
colour red.
There is also use of Laura Mulvey’sTheory in this digipak, which is
demonstrated in the way Rihanna is lying. The way she is lying is
seductive meaning that it will catch the ‘male gaze’, as you can see
the curves of her body.
The title of the album ‘LOUD’,
which is shown on the front and
back of the album, contrasts
the photos, as the photos look
more peaceful, in contrast to
the title.
There is a simplistic theme
throughout the whole digipak.The
font on the front and back cover is
clear and simple, in order to convey
the information (title and artist)
easily and clearly. There is also no
song list, with the song names and
numbers in order which is usually
included on the back. This adds to the
overall theme of the digipak as there
is near to no writing, and only
images.
The images used are all
specifically chosen to show
clearly who’s album it is. All
photos are of Rihanna which
compliments the simplistic
theme.
The theme of the digipak is
carried out throughout the
digipak, there is a clear theme of
loud colours, which are
represented by roses.The roses
are on the inside of the digipak,
spread across all 3 pages, and the
CD itself also has a rose on it.
