1. How did you use
technologies in the
construction and
research, planning and
evaluation stages
I have used a ranged of technologies in order to aid
me during the processes of Research, Planning,
Production and Evaluation.
2. Prezi
Prezi designs and creates presentation software that is enabling millions of
people to be great presenters. It provides template designs and allows
you to make your own style of designs to suit your type of research. Prezi
enabled me to make my own Prezi profile account which also allowed my
to record and save all my Prezi presentations.
Prezi designs is a presentation software that allows you to create
presentations in interesting ways with use of effct and different themes.
If you are unfamiliar with the software, Prezi provides you with a range
of design templates, of which you can adjust in order to suit your content
in the best way. In order to use Prezi for my project, I had to create an
account with Prezi which enabled me to save my presentations.
I had found Prezi extremely useful as it made my research look interesting,
as I was able to tailor the theme to suit the theme of the
trailer/poster/magazine cover I was analysing which makes it more
intriguing as opposed to a standard long worded blog entry. Prezi also
allowed me to insert videos and images into my presentation, making it
easier for me to analyse parts of my research as I was able to view it as I
were typing. I was able to gather research on Prezi, by viewing other
presentations shared on Prezi which was part of my secondary research.
3. Slideshare
I had found Slideshare also as an efficient way to present
my research as Slideshare allows you to upload a
powerpoint you've created and present it in the form of a
slideshow, by which you are able to save onto your profile
account and embed the link onto your blog, this software
also allows you access to other people's accounts and
gather research. Slideshar provides you with a search
engine which allows you to search for what you require
quicker.
4. YouTube
Youtube allows many people with an account to upload videos by which
they are able to share with others and people are able to search for
the videos they would like to view, as well as music they would like to
listen to. I had used Youtube as a resource to view trailers and to
upload my final media product, by which had enabled me to upload
onto my blog in the form of a video. Youtube made my research into
film trailers a lot easier as many producers have their own accounts by
which they will upload trailers/teaser trailers whereby people can
easily access by using the search engine to search for their channel
and view their media products or it might even be accessed on the
Youtube homepage. Youtube presents the date of which each video
has been posted and the amount of views it has gained, you are also
able to comment and read comments about the video, to view opinions
of within the public, this is useful to me as a media student as I am
able to see what narrative's and genre's have been proven to be most
popular and what is deemed to be good and bad about them of which I
had taken into consideration when producing my own media product.
5. Storyboard That
Storyboard That had helped my group present our storyboard in a way
that enabled us to visualize what we had imagined the final product to
look like. The software was very simple to use and had a storyboard
template ready for us to use and create our characters, present the
mise-en-scenea nd then place them in a setting we had thought would
suit our plan for our trailer best. This helped us as a group as we were
able to actually see what we had planned on screen in a cartoon form
and see whether we had needed to change any scenes if we disagreed
on the way something looked or the way in which it was laid out.
Stroryboard that enabled us to post the storyboard directly onto our
blogs, of which it was presented in the form of a slidehsow.
Another media technology myself and my group found useful the
Nintendo DSIXL we had used to create a GIF image on a GIF making
software called “FlipNote Hatena” on the DSIXL. This had enabled my
group to create a mini animation by which we had included a few
scenes of which we had planned durring he early planning stages of
our new synopsis. We had used this form of technology as myself and
Yasmin had used it during our AS level Media Project which proved to
be a success, as it is a unique and interesting way to present a
storyboard.
6. Other Technologies
During the filming stages, we had used a variety of cameras such as the
Nikon DSLR camera, a Go Pro Hero and a camcorder when filming
different scenes in different settings. During scenes we had filmed in
the early stages of filming our new media product, we had used the
DSLR camera to film in a dark setting, as we thought the camcorder
hadn't captured enough light, therefore when filming again, we had
used artificial lighting so that our protagonists were visible in the
darkness, however, in the end these shots were unsuccessful and were
removed from our trailer. We had then used the DSLR once again but
this time during our shoot of our protagonist as it allows you to take
good quality images, of which was proved by the result of our images
of our protagonist. We had also used a GoPRO Hero camera in order to
film shots within the swimming pool, whereby our protagonist is
drowning, these shots were succeful and were of a good quality of
which is why we had used these shots in our trailer. All members of
my group were confident with using these different technologies as
they are familiar to us due to having used them in ether our AS Media
project or Photography.
