In this project I worked for a client. My client uses social media a lot to
engage with his clients. He puts a lot of his material on various social
media platforms to share his work and reach more people. He uses
Facebook, specifically, to preview the videos as a live event. Facebook is
great for this feature and works well with the fact it’s a gig. His
audiences interact with this style of presentation as they feel as though
they are watching him more live than just an uploaded video. He also
added it as an event a few days prior to the event. This obviously let
the audience know when it was but it gave them something to look
forward to as well. My client first got into the Facebook live gig trend in
lockdown as it was perfect for it. He uses it a lot now and this type of
presentation was perfect.

My client also uses Instagram quite often for his music. He uses it more
for reels and short teaser videos. This social media platform worked
better for doing short teaser videos and lyric videos. He uses this more
to promote the video and then send people over to Facebook to watch
the full song or watch it live. This platform is better for finding new
audiences and reaching out to new people. This is why he promotes
short videos on here. To optimise these videos for the platform I took
the songs video and changed the dimensions of it to the Instagram reel
format. I then sent it to my client and he added lyrics and uploaded it.
Another technique that he did to reach more clients was adding
relevant hashtags to the bottom of the video. This can reach more
people and reaches people who engage with relevant pieces.

My personal Showreel
I will also be using this video personally for my showreel. I will be able
to use bits of this video, and the whole video, on my personal website
and social accounts. This is to attract new clients and I can show
prospective clients, that want a similar production, the work I have
done already and the experience I have. This will be the case for all the
work I have already done and also future work. Clients like to be able to
see what you can do and I want to be able to win the trust of future
clients. This is why having a portfolio/ showreel is so important in the
industry.
