6. Idea Evaluation
Which of your ideas do you want to develop further? Explain why you think that is the right
idea to take forward.
I plan on further developing my idea to create a promotional video for the band Herione, I
have chosen this idea since I feel that it best suits what I want to focus my future media work
on and will help me gain experience working with a similar type of client that I hope to work
with in the future.
This idea also allows me to have a lot of creative control and produce a product which is in my
own style and made using my own preferences, this is very key for me as I want to be able to
have lots of creative control over the outcome of the project to help me push myself to be
more creative and unique. However I will take on board my clients requests and design a
promotional video which also caters to their preferences too.
I also think that this idea will work very successfully as a promotional video since a lot of the
resources I need like photos, videos, band information is relatively accessible. This is due to
the fact that I have a close connection to my client as we are a related.
One more reason I have chosen this idea/client over the others is because they have a fairly
small following so by creating this promotional video video it will hopefully be used by the
client rather than than me creating a product that goes to waste, this will also help promote
my work and will also be a good piece of work to add to my portfolio.

14. Assessment of final ideas
Suitability for audience: When I have completed my product I do think that my audience
will engage with my idea, hopefully because its aimed at fans of the band and they’ll want
to promote/support the band which will help promote/support my own content.
Suitability for client: My idea does fulfill the client brief they gave me as I have been given
most creative control whilst also adding in my clients input to complete a my product to a
satisfactory standard.
Timescales: The production work for my product is practical and manageable in the time
that I have set, I will start by using inspiration from previous drafts and experiments and
continue from there until I have a refined finished product.
