5. HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS
YOUR AUDIENCE?
My magazine includes conventions that feature in
professional magazines such as banners which attract
the audience as it looks proficient.
It also features sell lines and that allows it to attract the
target audience by bribing and encouraging them with a
variety of celebrities and articles.
It looks ‘hip’ and therefore appeals to the younger
generation. I chose the language to attract the
audience such as ‘rock’ as it is direct to the music
genre’s audience.
The models and costumes were designed specifically to the
edgy genre of my magazine in order to show the readers
that it is what the magazine is about.
Audience research showed that the alternative rock
magazine images should be ‘edgy’ and ‘different’.
This is because alternative rock is stereotypically meant to
be not mainstream and therefore must be unique and
reaching into the mainstream images would be a bad idea
as it would not portray an alternative image.
