Rhys Sadler-Scott created sprites for a main character and enemy using Photoshop, taking inspiration from classic fighting games. They were happy with how realistic the main character sprite turned out. The enemy design was meant to be strange and fantastical, though it lacked arms. The game was then set in a supernatural city skyline that the player could partially explore and face weird creatures. Reflections note adding arms to the enemy, more background detail, and basic animations of the main character bobbing and the enemy firing lasers from its eyes.

2. Process
I used Photoshop to create two original sprites, one for the relatively ordinary main
character and one for the strange enemy he has to face. I took inspiration from
classic fighting game sprites in games like street fighter two. I’m happy with the
position the main character is in, as it is far more realistic than anything I have ever
been able to create in the past. Especially in regards to characters.

3. Reflection
I’m happy with the enemy design sprite. I set myself
a challenge in its creation to make the strangest and
most fantastical creature I could. I think I was
successful in this. Though I might have added arms
if I had the time.

4. Process
I set the game in a city skyline. Which will be just a small part of the
city players are able to explore, full of strange, supernatural elements
and weird creatures to face as the main character. A regular human.
I’m excited to explore this concept further as I think it will present a
lot of opportunities to be creative and will eliminate the need for
realistic sprites

5. Reflection
I continued my designs on the characters and backgrounds on
Photoshop today. Including giving arms to the enemy character.
I also added more detail to the background and gave the main
character some animation. He now bobs up and down, similar
to a boxer, with his fists in the air. And the enemy now fires a
laser at him from their eyes. I like where the project ended up,
though I might have liked more time to work on it.
