Rhys Sadler-Scott created sprites for a main character and enemy using Photoshop, taking inspiration from classic fighting games. They were happy with how realistic the main character sprite turned out. The enemy design was meant to be strange and fantastical, though it lacked arms. The game was then set in a supernatural city skyline that the player could partially explore and face weird creatures. Reflections note adding arms to the enemy, more background detail, and basic animations of the main character bobbing and the enemy firing lasers from its eyes.
