1. DEBEAKING, VACCINATION,
AND DUSTING IN POULTRY

2. DEBEAKING
 Age – 3 weeks and 14-15 weeks
 To prevent feather picking
 To prevent cannibalism
 Reduce feed wastage
Before Beak trimming –
 Health condition
 Add vitamin k to water
 Check equipment of trimming blade

3. During Beak trimming –
 Upper beak should be shorter than lower beak.
 Hold beak horizontally
 Tounge should not be burnt
After Beak trimming –
 Increase water level in drinkers and pressure in pipes
 Adequate feed depth
 Stress relieving medication

5. VACCINATION
 Intraoccular
 Intranasal
 Subcutaneous
 Intra muscular
 Intra dermal
 Cloaca – Rubbed with glass rod
 In drinking water
 Aerosol – Spraying

6. DUSTING
 Applying a cloth pre-dipped in pesticide.
 Prevents lice, fleas and other parasitic infestations.
