MUSHY CHICK DISEASE
18. Symptoms – Respiratory system and Reproductive
systems are affected – Labored breathing, gasping, and
breathing noises are noticed. Misshapened or rough eggs.

INFECTIOUS BRONCHITIS
20. Symptoms – Dry form – Warts on unfeathered areas.

AVIAN INFLUENZA (BIRD FLU)
24. Symptoms – A type of Avian cancer. Tumors in nerves
cause lameness and paralysis. Bird is unable to raise the
wings and leg paralysis.

MAREKS DISEASE
26. Symptoms – Affects bursa of fabricus (Organ of
immunity). Pasty vents may be seen.

INFECTIOUS BURSAL DISEASE (IBD, GUMBORO)
29. Symptoms – Bloody diarrhea, lethargy, and ruffled
feathers.
Treatment and Prevention – Dry litter can be maintained
by raking and adding lime. Add coccidiostats in the feed.
Amprolium, sulfonamides, Vitamin K.
Transmission – Ingestion of oocysts from litter material.
COCCIDIOSIS
32. Ascaris gallinarum and Heterakis gallinarum
Deep litter system birds are more prone for this.
Periodical deworming.
ROUND WORMS
33. Control of intermediate hosts is the best prevention.
TAPE WORMS
Lice, fleas, ticks, and mites.
Irritation, itching, feather loss to the bird.
Spraying insecticides.
