9. Methods of mating
Hand mating
 Identifying gilt or sow in heat and individual mating with boar.

 Culling of undesirable boar will be easy.

 1 mature boar for 15 to 20 sows.
 Not scientific.

11. Care of pregnant heifers
 Sell less litter giving sows – waste of feed.
 Shift to farrowing pen.
 If no heat signs during 21 days after service – Means pregnant.
