2. Causative organism – Virus
Symptoms – Diarrhea, vomiting, convulsions. Purple
coloured skin of ears, neck, and abdomen.
Prevention – Vaccination, bury the dead animals.
Treatment – Antibiotics to prevent secondary infection.
Others – Spreads through direct and indirect contact.
HOG CHOLERA (SWINE FEVER)
4. Causative organism – Virus
Symptoms – Blisters like sores and ulcers on the feet,
mouth, muzzle, udder, and teats. Salivation and fever.
Prevention – Disinfect or delay reusing the pens of
infected animals.
Treatment – Antibiotics to prevent secondary infection.
Others – Spreads through direct and indirect contact.
FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE
12. Causative organism – Ascaris sui (Large round worm)
Symptoms – Anemia, diarrhea, slow growth, coughing.
Prevention – Deworm the animals once in 3 months.
Treatment – Deworming drugs.
Others – Spreads through direct and indirect contact and
from infected dung.
INTESTINAL PARASITES

Symptoms – itching, scratching and loss of hair.
Prevention – Spraying or dipping with insecticides.
Treatment –Spraying or dipping with insecticides.
EXTERNAL PARASITES
14. Causative organism – Mites
Symptoms – Scratching, Wrinkled and rough skin,
inflammation of skin, falling hair and moist open wound.
Prevention – Ivermectin.
Treatment – Benzyl benzoate and Ivermectin.
