2. TECHNICAL
One problem I ran into on the first day of filming is that I
forget to charge the battery, so the camera was only half full.
I got around this problem by only using the camera when
needed to make the battery last longer. The camera ran out of
battery eventually and cut filming short on the first day, so I
didn’t get to film all the shots I wanted on that day. The
second day of filming didn’t have any technical problems
because I learnt my lesson.
3. LOGISTICAL
The location work well with what I had I mind and the music
video. The problem with the location was it was busy with a
lot of people about so we had to wait to get some shots so no
one would get in front of the shot. On the first day of filming
we didn’t have any weather problems because we pick a day
with no rain but on the second day of filming, we could only
pick a day with rain because everyone was busy except from
the day with rain.
4. PERSONNEL
My one cast member was 20 minutes late. Which wasted little
bit of time but didn't affect production that much and we were
back on track with production. Me and the cast member had
so conflicting ideas, but we managed to sort things out and it
was all fine in the end.
5. PLANNING
Planning helped a lot with the camera shots and helping me
visualize the music video. If I didn’t plan I would wouldn’t of
know what camera shots I was going to use and what scene I
was using them in.
6. FILMING –
PRODUCTION STILLS
The first location we filmed
at was a field near round
trees park. The location
was busy with people
walking their dog and was
hard to get a shot without
anyone else in it.
The second location we
filmed at was the park it
was empty because it was
raining that day which
made it easy to film shots
The last location we filmed
at was an alley way near
the field it was quite, so it
was easy to film shots as
well.
7. EDITING
• Record your edit progress, decisions, problems, etc. in
this section
• Include screenshots with annotations, statements, etc.
• Try to explain how you worked and justify why you chose
to work the way you did.
• Follow the structure and what to include on each slide as
this is necessary for evidence for assessment
8. EDITING –
FILE MANAGEMENT
I saved all my work on a folder called
music video so that I know where all my
files are for that project
I put all my footage in a
folder called videos, so I
know where all my footage
is.
9. EDITING –
SETTING UP PREMIERE
You should also show how you set up your timeline,
indicating the video settings used [e.g. DSLR 1080p 25]
I called the project Hunnybee because
that’s the name of the song and would be
easy to recognize between all my files
I saved the project in my music video
folder, so I know where to find it
10. EDITING –
IMPORTING FOOTAGE
I click on the import
videos box on
premiere which opens
your files
I selected all the footage
I have recorded and
pressed the import
button at the bottom
The videos are then
imported into your
project and you can put
then on your timeline
11. EDITING –
WORKSPACE
This is the timeline which shows you
the audio, the clips you have put in
and any effects you have put on the
clips. You can also see the audio
levels
This is the preview window
which shows you what the
video looks like and what the
effects look like
This is the import window
were you can import clips
and put then on your
timeline
This is the tool bar which
has different tools on it to
help you edit your video like
the stretch tool which can
make video clips longer
These tabs can be used to
navigate to different sections
of premiere pro like the effects
section where you can put
effects on your clips
12. EDITING –
ASSEMBLY EDIT
This is my basic sequence for my music video. I have cut some scene
which were too long to fit with the timing. An example of this is my first
shot which was originally 40 seconds long, but I cut down to 28
seconds to match the song. I have also stretched some scene because
they were not long enough.
13. EDITING –
REFINEMENT
I have refined my timeline by adding effects and making the vidoe a lot smoother. The first
effect I added was an animated title card which spins at the start of the music video I did this
by adding key frames and make the size different on each key frame. Another effect I did to
make the video smoother is making my own transition. I did this by adding an adjustment
layer and adding a directional blur and a polalize effect which makes a wiping animation.
Another effect I added was a animated honeybee which was done in the same way as the
title card but I also change the rotation as well.
14. EDITING –
COLOUR CORRECTION/SFX
At the start of the video I have a flash in to do this I cut the
scene in half and made the left scene dark with a light grey
filter on it to make it contrast with the bright scene on the right
15. EDITING –
EXPORT
I rended the video first
by putting the video
between the brackets
after it finished
rendering, I exported the
file with the fromat H.264
because it is the most
used file to use. I named
the file name Hunnybee
because that is the anme
of the song and will be
easy to find in my files. I
have saved in my music
video folder, so I know
where it is.
