2. BAUER MEDIA
Bauer Media is a large European-based media company,
headquartered in Hamburg, Germany that manages a portfolio of
more than 600 magazines.
They have produced successful magazines for the UK previously
such as Empire magazine, which is a film magazine launched in
1989 yet is still running today.
They also have published KERRANG! Which is a music magazine
and is one of the main influences I have had during the making of
mine. However they have also produced magazines such as Q
which means the company has experience in dealing with different
types of music magazines. Meaning that hopefully it would be able
to cater to my alternative/edgy style magazine.
3. IPC MEDIA
IPC Media is owned by Time Warner and is a popular music
magazine publishing company, which publishes my main influence
for my magaine which is NME. So having my magazine distributed
by this company would be ideal. There target audience is also
similar to mine which is for young adults
IPC media is a very successful company and it reaches oveer 130
million people over different media platforms, meaning if my
magazine were to distribute from this company it would already
have a lot of people viewing due to their popularity.
They have also produced very popular magazines such as NOW
and TV Times which are very popular sellers in UK.
4. IN CONCLUSION
The two companies that I have researched could distribute
my magazine because each of them published the magazines
that are my influences.
However my main influence is NME magazine and that is
published my IPC Media which is extremely popular and
already has many music magazines that it is publishing.
Meaning that they would know how to make my magazine a
success and distribute so that it gets seen world wide.
However I would also choose Bauer Media as they have
many successful UK magazines and already distribute
around 600 magazines and have been running for a long time
so they know the business well.
