Experience
Current Job Title: Phoneshop Sales Manager
Duties: Working as part of a store and area team, I am responsible for setting business targets and
goals, and for delivering results. Using the strengths of every team member I must plan, organise and
follow-up all activities to ensure that my business achieves its aims. I am therefore also involved in
identifying shortfalls, reasons for these and developing sound solutions. I am actively involved in store
meetings and presentations, merchandising, Duty Management, new management training, stocktaking,
promotion set-up and business planning.
At department level, leading a team of six colleagues, my roles and responsibilities are much
more varied. Amongst my more vital roles are …
• Recruitment, induction, training, ongoing coaching and retention of all new team members,
• Planning, organising and conducting staff meetings,
• Completing staffing schedules at least 8 weeks in advance and forecasting payroll spend
in line with agreed budgets,
• Ensuring complete, daily legal compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety,
• Role modeling market leading customer service standards,
• Dealing with any security and personnel issues,
• Promptly and professionally dealing with customer complaints and issues,
• Controlling levels of stock holding and availability in addition to stock handling and
ordering,
• Supporting the store manager with achieving realistic business targets, including the
control of store KPI's, and
• All other related administrative duties.
On a personal level I enrolled in the company management development program, and completed
courses on staff induction, coaching for change, understanding disciplinary procedures, train the trainer,
presentation skills, stock-take management, management development and sponsor management
workshop to name but a few. These courses are designed to enable me to present workshops and
learning programs to new employees and also to take on the responsibility of managing and executing
induction and basic training of those new starters
