6. •The SUBJECT is usually a noun, a word that names a
person, place, or thing. (Ali, Hasan, He, She, They,
Karachi)
•The VERB usually follows the subject and identifies an
action or state being. (play, read, drink etc)
•Nouns may also work as OBJECTS in sentences
(subjects usually do, objects receive the action and
usually follow the verb.

•The subject and verb must agree in number: both must
be singular, or both must be plural. e.g. The student
sings. The children sing.
•THE PREDICATE; After identification of Subject, the
remaining part of sentence tells us what the subject
does or did. This part of sentence is called predicate.
