Half Term Four Focus: Assessment
Key Idea: Five Ways of Giving Effective Feedback as Actions
This is taken from a blog by @teacherhead where he considers ways to ensure feedback
following a formative assessment leads to improved outcomes for students.
He explains five ways of ensuring feedback is specific and actionable: A student should
be able to read or hear their teacher’s feedback and then do something very specific and
concrete that will improve their learning.
Ways you can do this in your classroom:
1. Re-draft or Re-do
2. Rehearse or repeat (practise)
3. Revisit and Respond
4. Re-learn and Re-test
5. Research and Record
