To discuss some different models of reflection and
supervision that I can use throughout my student
teaching experience.
To show some of my own beliefs and things that I think
will work well when student teaching comes around.
4. Different Types of Reflection
Some different types of reflection that I would enjoy
doing
Video Analysis Reflection
Corrective feed back from my supervisor or co-op
Jotting down stuff that went well and not so well daily
(almost like a blog)
Post-Teaching Reflective Analysis
5. Why Reflect?
Reflection is one of the most important aspects of
teaching
Not only does it help yourself, but it also helps your
students
Gain more knowledge about the content through this
Bad teachers are usually the ones who skip this element
in teaching
6. Situated Learning
Model of Supervision
• Learning is active
• People learn
through doing the
task rather than
being lectured
about the task.
• Move through the
model as you
teach.
7. Developing as a Teacher
Ways to gain new knowledge as a teacher
Actually go out in the field and teach
Communication with others
