Half Term Three Focus: Differentiation
Key Idea: Using lesson starters to differentiate learning
Ways you can do this in your classroom:
• Lesson starters that are a reflection on the previous lesson are effective for both
the more able students, who can be challenged to make links between their
learning, and students who may need support to remind them of what they did
the previous lesson.
• Lesson starters could also be used to encourage links between subjects, so that
students understand that core skills (such as literacy) are not exclusive to one
subject area.
