Half Term Three Focus: Differentiation
Key Idea: Identifying and clarifying key words
Ways you can do this in your classroom:
• Ensure students are aware of the key words for the lesson / topic, as well as
understanding what these words mean and how they can be used. This could be
done as a matching activity, with a key word revisited each lesson.
• Students could have a word bank / key word wheel in
their books to refer to and use. A key word wheel is
a good way to develop students’ vocabulary.
