NEA Planning Task 4
Genre
 Fashion Lifetsyle
 Casual clothing that will suit the target audience, well known brands for
costumes such as jeans.
Magazine Name
 Attire
 Implies that the fashion in the magazine will be of high quality, with the
word being formal and carrying connotations of professionalism etc. and
suits the AB demographic.
Representation of
People/Models/Social Groups
 2 different ethnicities for each edition.
 High quality/trendy costumes represent the AB social group.
Concept
 To represent the social class through relatable cover lines and contents,
whilst having the models also looking relatable with the correctly branded
costumes, hair styles and facial expressions.
Magazines Content
 Concentrates on quite a privileged lifestyle, for the age category. Contents
will include gym tips, fashion tips for the relevant time of year, sports news,
celebrity news etc.
Contents page
 Model will appear on half of the page, with the list of contents on the
opposite side of the page.
 Articles included every 2 pages.
Content in cover lines
 How to get bigger biceps
 Future football star
 Best up and coming brands
 Nicest winter shoes
Mode of address
 Formal to suit the upper class AB demographic.
 Strong model posture to show confidence and strength, what you’d want
as a stereotypical male.
Conventions
 Conventional covers and contents
 Central, bold masthead
 Central model surrounded by cover lines, not too many however.
House style
 Dark colours to give a masculine kind of feeling, as that would be the
audience of the magazine.
 Bold fonts for a similar reason
 Not overly filled with cover lines.
1st Cover
 More basic than the 2nd
 Model posed slightly to the side
 Standing up
 Basic cover lines, more of a range rather than a specific issue
 Basic, dark coloured background
2nd cover
 Different ethnicity
 Straight look at the camera, slight tinted blue effect on face
 Shadow
 More experimental colour way
How the contents page will differ
 Similar layout, maybe a side switch for contents and model.
 Different brands involved
 One issue will concentrate completely on fashion whereas one will range
more.
Effect/techniques
 Nothing too strong, maybe shadow effect to add a bit of extra depth to
the lighting.
 Spot removal, teeth whitening etc to make the model look more
professional
 Text effects
Locations
 Green screens, plain background for both issues when a different colour
can be placed over when editing.
Target Audience
 Fashion that suits a wealthy person using high quality brands.
 Using the correct formal language that suits the target audience.
Requirements
 Settings- green screen
 Social groups- two different ethnicity's
 Main images- 2 for each posing model
 Website- link at the bottom of covers in small text but has to be
noticeable.
 Intertextuality- copy a pose/copy a costume etc.

Nea planning task 4

  • 2. Genre  Fashion Lifetsyle  Casual clothing that will suit the target audience, well known brands for costumes such as jeans.
  • 3. Magazine Name  Attire  Implies that the fashion in the magazine will be of high quality, with the word being formal and carrying connotations of professionalism etc. and suits the AB demographic.
  • 4. Representation of People/Models/Social Groups  2 different ethnicities for each edition.  High quality/trendy costumes represent the AB social group.
  • 5. Concept  To represent the social class through relatable cover lines and contents, whilst having the models also looking relatable with the correctly branded costumes, hair styles and facial expressions.
  • 6. Magazines Content  Concentrates on quite a privileged lifestyle, for the age category. Contents will include gym tips, fashion tips for the relevant time of year, sports news, celebrity news etc.
  • 7. Contents page  Model will appear on half of the page, with the list of contents on the opposite side of the page.  Articles included every 2 pages.
  • 8. Content in cover lines  How to get bigger biceps  Future football star  Best up and coming brands  Nicest winter shoes
  • 9. Mode of address  Formal to suit the upper class AB demographic.  Strong model posture to show confidence and strength, what you’d want as a stereotypical male.
  • 10. Conventions  Conventional covers and contents  Central, bold masthead  Central model surrounded by cover lines, not too many however.
  • 11. House style  Dark colours to give a masculine kind of feeling, as that would be the audience of the magazine.  Bold fonts for a similar reason  Not overly filled with cover lines.
  • 12. 1st Cover  More basic than the 2nd  Model posed slightly to the side  Standing up  Basic cover lines, more of a range rather than a specific issue  Basic, dark coloured background
  • 13. 2nd cover  Different ethnicity  Straight look at the camera, slight tinted blue effect on face  Shadow  More experimental colour way
  • 14. How the contents page will differ  Similar layout, maybe a side switch for contents and model.  Different brands involved  One issue will concentrate completely on fashion whereas one will range more.
  • 15. Effect/techniques  Nothing too strong, maybe shadow effect to add a bit of extra depth to the lighting.  Spot removal, teeth whitening etc to make the model look more professional  Text effects
  • 16. Locations  Green screens, plain background for both issues when a different colour can be placed over when editing.
  • 17. Target Audience  Fashion that suits a wealthy person using high quality brands.  Using the correct formal language that suits the target audience.
  • 18. Requirements  Settings- green screen  Social groups- two different ethnicity's  Main images- 2 for each posing model  Website- link at the bottom of covers in small text but has to be noticeable.  Intertextuality- copy a pose/copy a costume etc.
