1. Focus Group Analysis
When we decided we wanted to do a focus group, we set out with the idea of
wanting no what people of the target audience would want to see in our promotional
package. This meant that we would have to include content that is relevant to what
we want to create in our promotional package. Therefore, we decided to include;
Which film posters interest you the most and why?; Which font do you prefer and
why?; What tag line would you prefer for our poster?; What different types of sound
do you want to hear in our film trailer and why?; What would you want to be
portrayed on the magazine front cover, in relation to the film and why?; What camera
shot or angle would you want to be see on the front cover of the magazine and
why?; Which weapon do you think is the best suited for our film trailer and why?;
Which costume idea, do you find most appropriate for the slasher genre and
why?;Our favourite name is The Human Carvery, do you agree based on these other
options?; Which of the following factors do you enjoy the most in horror films and
why?
The response that we received from the focus group was extremely useful in
the planning of our promotional package. As the response we heard gave opinions
that we had not thought of. Also we had opinions which agreed with what we were
planning which was really helpful as it suggested we were on the right line for our
promotional package. With this it did give an insight into what should be included in
our trailer and helped lock down the ideas that we are going with for our trailer.
Therefore, we thought as a group the focus group was highly effective and was very
useful for the planning of our promotional package.
