1. What have you learnt about the
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Evaluation 6
2. Tumblr
Using tumblr was an easily accessible and simple website to
chronologically upload all my pre and post production.
It gave me a lot of control over the aesthetic of the blog and how
it was received.
Due to its public practicality it made it easy for my teachers to
access all of my work through posts, PowerPoint, videos that
were private and only accessible by link and slideshare.
All of this was extremely useful.
3. Animatic
• I created my animatic on adobe premier.
• The use of the animatic showed a clear understanding of the
direction of the film, the timing for each scene and gave a
clear visual indication of what the film could like.
• However, although I had this animatic my film started to
evolve during the filming and refilming process. Scenes came
to mind that work so well with the lighting and theme that I
had to include them.
• The animatic gave me a clear indication of the direction of the
film and helped me greatly to evolve it in to a final, improved
version of the opening.
4. Slideshare
• For the teachers to be able to view my PowerPoint's I
had to upload them to slideshare, an easily
accessible website for uploading presentations.
• This greatly helped me have a wider variation of
formats to upload my post and pre production to the
blog.
5. Editing
• To edit my opening I used Adobe Premier.
• I have never used such high end professional editing equipment before in
previous projects. By using this equipment it allowed me to have total
control of the video, and to mold it to my desired product rather than
being restricted on equipment such as iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
• By using this equipment I have greatly developed my skills and learnt
completely new techniques and skills which have made the editing
process far smoother.
• I shot a lot of clips over a series of days due to technical problems and
thus had problems with the lighting, I used the editing software to adjust
the lighting, something I was inexperienced in beforehand.
• By using the transitions and the fine cutting tool I tried to make the
opening look as seamless as possible could to try obtain the professional a
look.
6. Camera
• I have had experience with DSLRs before, however
only with the canon 1100D, I used the schools 1200D
which was far more advanced.
• The filming was crisper and had a far better lens
which helped with focus and distance.
• All of which I used to the best of my ability to try and
create the best possible shots possible.
• By using this piece of kit I believe that the experience
has better my previous knowledge.
7. Photoshop
• I had previous knowledge
about Photoshop due to
GCSE Media.
• As I had more knowledge
on this application I found
it easy and smooth to use.
• I used Photoshop to create
my opening credits which I
then dropped into adobe
premier and overlaid it
over my project.
