1. Evaluation Questions <br />How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? <br />During the process of creating my music video I used many media technologies to produce the final complete version. At the beginning of the topic I used the Internet, specifically YouTube in order to research music videos created by professional artists. <br />I studied these music videos in order to get inspiration and ideas for creating my own. As well as using YouTube to view the videos, I used it to view songs by particular artists I liked in order to come across the song I would use for my music video. <br />When doing my research I constructed word documents where I analysed the shots within music videos and created my treatment sheet. My treatment sheet was the basic plan of my video and what I hoped to include. I uploaded these word documents onto Slideshare in order to post on my Blog. My blog was where everything would be stored; all my research, ideas and where my final cut and rough cut also would be uploaded for people to see. <br />The procedure of constructing my video started with me using I movie in order to create an Animatic. An Animatic is a slide show made up of drawings which I created showing what each of my different shots would include. I drew all the different shots then uploaded them onto I movie in order to arrange them in order. <br />Here I have taken a screen grab from I Movie where you can see my images have been uploaded and arranged in order. The green bar along the bottom shows the show ‘Lose Control’ inserted to play over the top of the images. <br />Next I downloaded the song I wanted to use, ‘The Saturdays – Lose Control’. Once this was successfully converted and downloaded through ZamZar I inserted it into I movie with the clips. <br />The hardest bit was editing the clips so that they would stay on the screen in order to portray how the long the clip would last in the music video. To do this I used the toolbox below, which enabled me to change the duration of the clip. <br />Next I had to use a camera to film my footage. This was the hardest part, as I had to think of all the different shots I wanted to include and make sure I included a large amount of different shots with a mass amount of variety. Once I had done my filming I uploaded the footage onto Final Cut. <br />This was the software we were using to produce the video. When my footage was uploaded I selected the clips I wanted to use and started to edit them on final cut. This included adding effects, shortening and cropping the clips to select the part I wanted and adding in the music. <br />When syncing my footage in time with the music I used the marker tool. This enabled me to place a green marker were the beat was resulting in me knowing where I wanted that specific clip to start and finish. This made it a lot easier for me to make my footage fit with the beat and rhythm of the song making it flow a lot more easily. I used the replicate tool in order to make some of my shots more interesting and different. I selected the replicate tool through the effects menu. I selected VIDEO FILTERS then STYLIZE and then replicate. This enabled my shots to be split into four screens. <br />The final version of my video was uploaded on to YouTube. This would enable people to view my video and share comments if they wanted. The use of comments being enabled would help me during my evaluation. I have used a Prezi to present some of my evaluation. I used a prezi at the start of the coursework when I made a presentation about the different shots within a music video by ‘The Black Eyed Peas’. I used screen shots and videos to express the points I was making and back up what I had analysed. I have found Prezi really easy to use and I find it an interesting, fun way to present your work to people. <br />As well as using a Prezi in order to present my evaluation I have used Slideshare to upload the word documents I have created with my evaluation and images to explain the points I have made. This has enabled me to be creative with my evaluation using different forms of technology. Also I have used final cut in order to produce a short film answering one of my evaluation questions. I decided to create a short film to give my evaluation variation and use the skills I have learnt through creating my own music video on Final Cut on a different task. <br />
