First draft of double page spread and response to feedback

1. KEYPOINTS FROM MY FEEDBACK
Both my teacher and my peers commented
on my main title for my double page spread
being rather bland and ‘boring’ which I
therefore felt I should address as the title of
the double page spread is important as it is
one of the main features of my article and
should be used to grab the readers
attention.
From researching into
pre-existing magazines
double page spreads, I
found that a pull out
quote is rather popular
which is why I tried to
incorporate this
convention into my own
work. However from my
feedback I have realised
that my quote too is
rather bland, general and
too long. The pull out
quote should be short,
snappy and informative
to help encourage the
readers to read the
entire article, which
mine failed to do
therefore I should made
sure I address this in my
final product.
I used these extra images of the artist to help fill the negative space
in my double page spread, however on the second image I have
cropped the models face out of the image, therefore I should address
this in my final production as it will contribute to the consistency of
my magazine and make it seem more professional.
From my feedback I also told that my
magazine will appear more professional
looking if my main image was larger, to
ensure it is the main focus point of my
image.
I was also made aware
that the spacing and
alignment of my columns
was not consistent
throughout my spread.
As you can see when you
compare the first column
to the rest. It is vital that
I make sure that all of my
columns are layed out in
the same format as at the
moment it looks very
unprofessional and
rushed, which I will
make sure I address in
my final production as
this is a convention I
found in every single
magazine I analysed
I have not included a page
number which is vital as
every magazine has one to
help the readers.
My feedback also
informed me that
it would be
professional
looking if I listed
the
photographers
name
